Dr. Heimmel has been honored with many awards, including Top Ophthalmologists in America, Compassionate Doctor Award, Patient’s Choice Award, and NJ Top Docs. He graduated with highest honors from Rutgers University and was selected for the prestigious 7-year joint B.A./M.D. program at Rutgers and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Heimmel went on to complete his ophthalmology training at the Brown University School of Medicine in Rhode Island.
